BUSHNELL COMMITTEE APPOINTED TO REVIEW THE CITY’S CHARTER
The Bushnell City Council has appointed a committee to review the City’s existing Charter. The first meeting will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 5:00 pm in the Bushnell City Council Chambers located at 117 E Joe P Strickland, JR., Ave. and will be attended by a representative of the Florida League of Cities, who will guide committee members on their given task of updating the Charter.
A Charter is the “operations manual” by which the local government runs the administrative functions of government. The purpose of the Charter review committee is to examine the City Charter and make suggestions for updates, amendments and changes that would make municipal government operations and policies more productive. All recommendations will be presented to City Council for review and approval. Changes would then be placed on a referendum to be voted on by the citizens of Bushnell during the 2016 general elections. All interested persons are encouraged to attend the Charter Review meeting.
