The City of Bushnell, Florida provides municipal services to its citizens, including the regulation and licensing of businesses. The appropriate regulation, licensing, and permitting of businesses promotes the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Bushnell, and such regulation and permitting is in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City.

The City Council deems it necessary, in order to promote and protect the citizens, to review and determine the necessary and appropriate criteria for issuance of permits for certain activities related to game rooms, arcades, internet cafes, sweepstakes redemption centers, establishments using slot machines or slot machine-like equipment, and similar computerized and electronic entertainment and amusement activities, and to place a moratorium on the issuance of permits and business tax licenses for such activities for a period of 365 days. During the time the moratorium is in effect, the City will not accept applications for permits for electronic gaming facilities within the City of Bushnell. It shall be unlawful for any person or entity to engage in the electronic gaming activities that are the subjects of this Ordinance without first obtaining a business tax license or permit for such activities.
