The Elected City Clerk, Joy Coleman, also serves as the Finance Director for the City of Bushnell. The Finance Department provides financial management, leadership, oversight, reporting, and additional financial services for the City's organization. Individuals who directly report to the City Clerk are the Director of Human Resources and the Finance Specialist. The department collects and records revenues and expenditures; coordinates and monitors the City's operating and capital budgets; monitors the activity of the cash, investments, retirement plans, and other restricted accounts; as well as records and monitors all fixed assets. The accounting of the City of Bushnell undergoes an annual financial audit conducted by a third party accounting firm to ensure appropriate and proper financial internal controls and procedures.

The Governmental Finance Officer's Association (GFOA) has awarded the City the 2010 national award which recognizes excellence in financial reporting to state and local governments who have met their application criteria.
