FALL FESTIVAL
The Fall Festival is an annual event sponsored by the
city to celebrate the Birthday of The City of Bushnell.
Held the third Saturday of October, this one day event
stars with a parade @ 9:30 a.m. and concludes with a spectacular
fireworks display shortly after nightfall. Over 20,000
visitors have been reported to attend this festival and
enjoyed the various types of food and crafts available.
During this full day of fun, the public can enjoy a variety
of games, contests and foods, as well as numerous arts
and craft displays. Dancing, music and a variety of performing
arts are also scheduled throughout the day. Not to mention
the famous Greased Pig Contest!!

SUMMER DAY CAMP
The summer youth program is offered to children ages five
to thirteen. The children are grouped by age in two-week
sessions starting in June and running through July (specific
dates will vary depending upon the school schedule). The
events for this program run Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. – 3:30p.m.
and include various activities such as swimming, bowling,
skating, arts and crafts, trips to local attractions and
much more. A professional staff of volunteers and a Coordinator
supervises all activities.

BASKETBALL
CAMP
The City also offers a Basketball camp to children in grades 4th –
9th. This camp is held a week prior to the summer camp program and is
a week long M-F 8:00a.m. – NOON. The children will receive a tee shirt
for participating and the City will provide a pizza party on the last
day of camp. This program is lead by the Basket Ball Coaching staff of
South Sumter High School and supervised by the Summer Day Camp
Coordinator.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The City of Bushnell is a Public Power Provider, committed to serving
our customers with dependable electric service at the lowest possible
rates. In an effort to educate the public concerning the issue of
“Publicly Owned and Operated Electric Utility Providers,” the City of
Bushnell sponsors a municipal electric scholarship program to award
one graduating senior with a $500.00 scholarship for any Florida
university, community college, or vocational school.
Graduating seniors that maintain a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better, and
permanently reside in the home of a City of Bushnell Municipal
Electric Customer are eligible to apply. Applications are available in
January of each year, and are distributed to South Sumter High School.
